Meet the board

I am Tanja, Chair of the Board of the Serbian-Finnish Association.
I came to Finland, more precisely to Turku, in 2000 together with my husband, bringing with us memories of Niš and Leskovac, the city where I was born. We now live in Espoo.

I am the proud mother of two wonderful young people, who are currently studying at Aalto University. I hold a PhD in Mathematics, and over the years I have had the opportunity to work both in academia and in the IT industry.

I joined the Serbian-Finnish Association in the early 2000s. I believe that it is the responsibility of all of us to contribute through our actions to preserving our community and bringing Serbian and Finnish cultures closer together.

Danijela was born in Vršac, grew up in Kovin, studied in Belgrade, and has lived in Helsinki since 2004. She has been a member of the Association since 2006 and has served as Vice-Chair since 2025.

She is a qualified English language teacher and social pedagogue, and works with young children with special needs.

She is a mother of two daughters and enjoys travelling, reading and sports.

I am a new member of the Serbian-Finnish Association. I joined the Association because I wanted to meet new people and contribute to strengthening this community.

My roots are in Niš and Kruševac, but I moved to Finland back in 2000.
I am an economist by profession, and currently work in business in the facility management industry.

I hope we will continue to get together in as large numbers as possible!

Tanja Goodman has lived in Finland, in Espoo, since 1992.
She was born in Melbourne, Australia, but spent her childhood in Serbia.

She is an economist by profession and has worked in the IT industry since the beginning of her career.
She has been a member of the Board since 2025.

Reading, travelling and going for walks with her dog are among her favourite hobbies.

Dušica Božović works as a career and study counsellor at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

She was born in Gornji Milanovac and graduated in linguistics from the University of Belgrade and the University of Helsinki.

She has lived in Finland since 2010. She also works as a Serbian language translator.
In her free time, she enjoys having no free time.

Hello everyone! I’m Kristina. I moved to Finland in August 2025 after living and working in Italy for several years.

I am a mechanical engineer by profession and work as a designer at a shipyard in Helsinki.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, discovering new cultures, learning foreign languages and playing basketball. I look forward to meeting new people and taking part in activities together through the Association.

Maja Bašić was born in Tuzla in 1985. She holds a law degree.
She has lived in Finland since 2019.

She brings to the Board many years of experience in working with non-governmental organisations and coordinating cultural events.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, drawing and daydreaming. She is also an amateur photographer.

I was born in Lithuania and have lived in Finland for more than ten years. I am currently a doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki.

I speak several languages, including Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Finnish and English, and I am currently actively learning Serbian.

I love Serbian culture and am interested in Serbian Orthodox traditions and food.
