Participate

The Serbian-Finnish Association is a volunteer-based organization and all our activities are carried out by enthusiastic volunteers. The goal of the Association is to promote intercultural communication, organize events, and strengthen the Serbian community in Finland.

We encourage anyone interested in learning Serbian, gaining work experience through an internship, or volunteering with us to contact us.

What kinds of tasks can you undertake?

Depending on your interests and the needs of the Association, you could participate in the following tasks:

  • event planning and implementation
  • web design and website maintenance
  • administrative and organizational support of the association
  • graphic design (new logo, posters, event visuals, social media)
  • marketing and communication (writing texts, publications, press releases)

Previous experience is not necessary, what is more important is motivation, responsibility, and a desire to learn.

Work trial (työkokeilu)

A work trial is intended for people who:

  • are registered as job seekers
  • have a work trial recorded in their employment plan
  • receive approval from the TE services that this form of training is suitable

A work trial usually lasts 1–3 months, working 1–5 days per week, and 4–8 hours per day. The work trial is unpaid, but the participant receives unemployment benefits in accordance with the TE service rules. A work trial won’t necessarily lead to employment, but it can be a valuable experience as well as an opportunity to learn and network.

Volunteer work

If you cannot participate through a work trial, but want to support the activities of the Serbian-Finnish Society, we always welcome volunteers. The commitment can be adjusted to your schedule, interests, and place of residence (some tasks can be done remotely).

What do we expect?

Since all board members work as volunteers in addition to their regular jobs, we expect both interns and volunteers to be independent and to have initiative.

What do we offer?

  • Practical experience in real projects
  • A supportive and friendly work environment
  • The opportunity to learn and develop new skills
  • Networking and guidance
  • Constructive feedback and a certificate of participation
  • Support for learning Finnish if you wish

How can you apply?

Send a short description of yourself and your interests (and a short CV if you wish) to:

info@srpsko-finsko.org

Applications are open all year round. If you are not sure whether the above tasks are suitable for you, feel free to contact us, we are open to discussion and flexible solutions.
